Morgan's Success Story
As Morgan prepared to return to work after baby #2, she was looking for a way to get back in shape that would fit into her busy life. In addition to being a wife and mom to kids ages 3 and 1, she is currently shadowing an elementary school principal as she trains to become a principal herself—so you can imagine that doesn't leave a lot of time or flexibility for lengthy workouts or classes at a gym!
When Morgan first enrolled with me, we made the choice to get her started with PiYo—a low-impact program that would help her start to rebuild her strength while healing an abdominal separation that resulted from pregnancy. After completing PiYo, she has moved on to 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix Extreme—still sticking to 30-minute workouts while her kids are so young—in addition to mixing in some running to get outside on weekends (although a sprained ankle has made that a no-go lately).
Morgan has been an active member of our virtual support group and an awesome contributor of encouragement and recognition for others' hard work, so this week I wanted to shout her out for her own hard work! I'm so impressed with her discipline, resolve, and patience to keep at it even in the face of injury.
Here's what Morgan had to say about her experience:
"I've had a couple of sprained ankles, which has been a chronic issue since I did gymnastics as a kid, and was exacerbated by pregnancy hormones. I was glad to be able to switch back to PiYo to stay in a workout routine even as my ankle healed, and the variety of workouts let me rest my ankle: I did upper body and ab workouts as I gave it some time to heal."
"I have more energy thanks to getting into a more regular workout routine. I think my post-baby belly is getting a little tighter too, though I still have a ways to go."
"I have appreciated Elizabeth’s suggestions on which programs to try, and it has been helpful to get a sense of other programs from the community’s postings too. It is a big motivator for me to post my workouts. The group holds me accountable! Thanks, everyone!"
