Ambur's 80 Day Obsession Results

When Ambur sets her mind to something, there's no stopping her. Somehow this spring, she managed to complete the 80 Day Obsession program while also training for a marathon and grieving from the death of a parent.

A group of us started the program together on January 15, and it's crazy to look back on how much happened in our lives along the way. Somehow the program flew by even though it was 13 weeks long. We were all nervous at the beginning, but knew that we could get through it and not quit. We may have switched around the days of the workouts sometimes, but we completed the program nevertheless. We had our doubts about our ability to fit in hour-long workouts when we were used to 30 minutes, but we just made it happen somehow—and ended up feeling like it wasn't that much of an imposition or schedule change!

In Ambur's words: "I was nervous and knew that it would be difficult, but I also knew that I could do it. It ended up not even feeling like that long of a program, probably because each day was different. I was surprised by how quickly the workouts seemed to go by. When I first saw the calendar, I was really dreading the hour-long workouts, but they seemed to fly by on most days."

The before-and-after photo above shows Ambur's two-year transformation through multiple Beachbody programs, including PiYo, 21 Day Fix, 22 Minute Hard Corps, Insanity Max:30, Shift Shop, Core de Force, Cize, and Country Heat, along with running and training for races. During 80 Day Obsession specifically, Ambur was not looking to lose weight, but more to develop strength as well as the discipline such an intense program requires. "My main goal," she says, "was just to complete the program the best that I could."

"After completing the program," she adds, "I did feel much stronger and my runs (even the longer ones) weren't so tiring. I would recommend this program for anyone who wants to push themselves and gain muscle along the way." She notes that she did achieve these results while following the workouts without following the timed nutrition component of the program.

The program definitely requires commitment and discipline—but it helps that it contains 80 different workouts so it's never boring or repetitive! That was Ambur's favorite part, she says: "I tend to get bored easily and the same workouts week after week can sometimes feel like a chore."
